The postcard shows the Ilocos Norte Provincial Capitol. The Ilocos Norte Provincial Capitol, located right in front of the Aurora Park, is the seat of the provincial government of Ilocos Norte.
The old capitol, designed by Ralph Harrington Doane (i), was erected in 1918 and inaugurated in 1924. The capitol was enlarged and remodeled in 1957 with two wings added, but old structure was retained minus the roof. The building was constructed using the neoclassical architecture. The central sculpture pediment, square columns, balcony and hallway on the ground floor leading to an annex that now covers the old arched windows/doors were also added.
