The Rhine (German: Rhein) is one of the longest and most important rivers in Europe at 1,320 kilometres (820 mi). The Rhine is the longest river in Germany. Koblenz is a city situated on both banks of the Rhine. Cologne (German: Köln) is Germany's fourth-largest city after Berlin, Hamburg and Munich, and lies on the Rhine.
